MDA is not a public or charter
school. Murphy and Dwyer Academy is a private school serving
students with Asperger’s Syndrome, High-Functioning Autism and other
Neurointegrative learning differences. Prospective students who are accepted
are accepted based on Murphy and Dwyer Academy and the student’s
team (MDA, parents, school district) making a collaborative decision
that MDA is an appropriate placement for the student.

Does MDA
run a summer program?
MDA holds school on a 12-month
cycle of 216 school days. The reason for the extended school year
is students require extra time to complete the rigorous academic and
social development curriculum. The extended school year also
minimizes academic regression many students with Neurointegrative
learning differences may go
through with an extended time away from school. Summers are a
mandatory part of the program at Murphy and Dwyer Academy for all
students.
